President Nana Akufo-Addo, speaking at the commissioning of The Law House in Accra on Monday, June 10, vowed to hold accountable any political party or presidential candidate found to be in breach of the law ahead of the December elections.
Akufo-Addo, reiterating his administration’s stance on upholding the rule of law, emphasized that legal infractions by political entities will not be tolerated.
He underscored his commitment to ensuring order and adherence to the law in Ghana, especially with the approaching December polls.
Akufo-Addo stressed that the law will be uniformly enforced to safeguard the peace, security, and stability of the nation from being jeopardized by the ambitions of any political party or candidate.
He stated,
“I want to reassure the Ghanaian people that law enforcement agencies, including the office of the Attorney General, will exert maximum effort to uphold law and order in the country, particularly in this critical election year.”
He further emphasized,
“We will not allow the peace, security, and stability of the nation, which makes Ghana a beacon on the African continent, to be compromised by the ambitions of any political party or presidential candidate. It will not happen.”
The Law House, a ten-story building adjacent to the High Court complex, was officially inaugurated by the President and will serve as the new office for the Attorney General and Ministry of Justice.
Initiated in 2001 and revived in January 2023, the project boasts modern amenities such as conference rooms, office spaces, parking facilities, and dining areas.
