Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has responded to actress Yvonne Nelson’s claim that he urged her to abort their child. The controversy erupted after Nelson made alot of revelation in her recent book ;I AM NOT YVONNE;, shedding light on a previously undisclosed chapter in their personal history. In his candid response, Sarkodie neither confirmed nor denied the allegation, but rather emphasized the importance of respecting privacy and personal choices.
Yvonne Nelson’s revelation startled fans and industry insiders alike, as it exposed a hidden aspect of the relationship between two of Ghana’s most prominent celebrities. While the actress has been known for her outspoken nature, Sarkodie has typically maintained a more private and reserved demeanor. Consequently, the public’s curiosity was piqued as they eagerly awaited the rapper’s response.
Sarkodie in his new release ‘Try Me’, a direct reply to Yvonne, says he never encouraged her to have an abortion.
According to the rapper, while he was not ready to be a father, he had told her to keep the pregnancy but Yvonne chose to go ahead with the abortion due to her schooling at the time.
“So don’t you make it seem like I was the one pushing you for abortion,” he said in Try Me.
in the song sarkodie made it clear that there are a couple of things he had thought he would take to his grave, suggesting the abortion could have remained a secret, however, he praises her for her bravery in telling the story but says Yvonne cannot pick and choose what to tell the world.
Besides, he says Yvonne should not play the victim and create the impression that she was looking for love.
“Baby girl make you no try me”, he cautions.
