“I Was Furious Over Obrafour’s Diss Track”-Okyeame Kwame

Written by Sarah Boye

Ghanaian rapper Okyeame Kwame has revealed that he felt furious and considered responding to Obrafour’s 2017 diss track, *Kasiebo*.

He explained in an interview that the song, which targeted him, initially angered him and pushed him to plan a counterattack. However, his wife and academic mentor, Professor Asante, convinced him to abandon the idea.

“I was very angry and wanted to react,” he admitted. “I had already written lyrics to diss him back using the same *Kasiebo* beat, but my wife and professor stopped me.”

Further. Okyeame Kwame credited his wife and mentor for keeping him from engaging in the feud. He acknowledged that retaliating would have damaged both his reputation and his friendship with Obrafour.

“My wife reminded me that I hadn’t even made a song about Nkrumah or God, so I had no reason to make a diss track,” he said. Looking back, I’m grateful I didn’t insult him. It’s one of the best decisions I’ve made because I would have lost both my respect and a friend.”

Obrafour released *Kasiebo*, featuring rapper Guru, in 2017, drawing significant attention in the music industry.
