President-elect John Dramani Mahama has pledged to leave a lasting positive legacy during his final term before retiring from politics.
Meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, Tong Defa, who delivered a congratulatory message from President Xi Jinping, Mahama committed to restoring Ghana’s status as Africa’s “Black Star.”
He described his reelection as an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
“The election, which was the easy part, is over. Now begins the difficult task of bringing Ghana back to its rightful place as the black star of Africa. I assure you, I will give it my all,”This is my legacy term—a chance to leave behind a good name before retiring from politics. You can count on me to work tirelessly to move Ghana forward.” he stated.
Mahama also assured the ambassador of his willingness to maintain close collaboration between Ghana and China, emphasising open communication and mutual support.
“My doors will always be open. I deeply value the advice and support you have provided over the years, and that will not change. Whenever your leaders wish to meet me, my door will always be open. I also ask for your continued prayers,” he said.
