Nigerian actress Ini Edo has opened up about her painful journey with infertility, revealing that she suffered over six miscarriages and multiple failed IVF attempts.

In a recent episode of the reality TV series Young, Famous & African, the 42-year-old actress shared how these struggles shaped her path to motherhood.

Edo explained that she married at 26, planning to finish childbearing by 31 and focus on her career. “But life didn’t turn out that way,” she said. “I’ve had more than six miscarriages. I don’t like to dwell on it, but it was part of my journey. I also tried IVF, and I know what I’ve gone through as a woman.”

She further admitted that she never expected to face fertility challenges, particularly with carrying pregnancies to term. “I went through surrogacy,” she revealed. “I never thought this would be my reality, but after many challenges, I chose this path.”

After considering various options, Edo found that surrogacy was the best route for her. In 2023, Edo fulfilled her dream of becoming a mother through surrogacy.
