Ghanaian artist Safo Newman has disclosed that some people have encouraged him to use illegal drugs to boost his stage performance.
Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM, Newman directly addressed criticisms about his lack of energy during performances. He firmly rejected the idea, emphasising that he would not compromise his authenticity for temporary gains.
“People have suggested that I should try some of these things [drugs] to go wild on stage,” Newman said. “But I won’t do that. I don’t think I can.”
Newman’s comments come as he faces ongoing criticism for his stage presence and fashion sense, issues that have drawn attention since his rise to fame with the hit song *Akokoa* earlier this year.
