Social media activist Oliver Barker-Vormawor has clarified that his previous comments about alleged bribery were not to insult Parliament’s Appointments Committee.
During an appearance before the committee in Accra on Wednesday, January 29, Barker-Vormawor offered an apology and explained,
“I want to make it clear that I did not intend to undermine the committee members, nor did I mean to suggest that they accepted or solicited bribes from anyone. I never meant to convey that message, and I apologise for it.”
Barker-Vormawor further expressed his willingness to remove the post in an effort to resolve the issue amicably.
“I left the post up because I felt people misconstrued my words. I kept the post in its original form to ensure it would be brought up for clarification if ask.
Earlier, Barker-Vormawor had accused certain committee members of demanding bribes from ministerial nominees.
