“I Couldn’t Make Agreement During Contract Talks” – Nora Hauptle

Written by Sarah Boye

Former Black Queens head coach Nora Hauptle has said she could not make compromises during contract renewal talks with the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

Speaking in an interview,Ms Hauptle explained that unresolved issues in the negotiations, which were crucial to her success, led to her departure.

“It wasn’t easy to give up the project,” she said. “My contract was ending at the year’s close, and we had discussions, but several key issues remained unclear, and they were essential for my success.”

“I can’t just settle for compromises. In the end, nothing came of it, but we part on good terms and with mutual respect,” she added.

Hauptle took over the Black Queens following Ghana’s failure to qualify for the continental championship. She led the team to secure a spot in this year’s Women’s AFCON in Morocco, which will run from July 5 to July 26. She left her role in late 2024 after successfully guiding the team to qualification.
