“I Am Shocked To Inherit $151 Million Debt”-DVLA CEO

Chief Executive Officer of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Julius Neequaye Kotey, has expressed shock after inheriting significant debts of GHC 300 million and $151 million from his predecessor.

In an interview, Kotey revealed that he did not expect to face such debts, especially given the revenue generated by DVLA operations.

“I didn’t anticipate such legacy debts, but here I am, facing them. Every operation we carry out generates some revenue, so inheriting this debt from my predecessor, Mr Agyemang Busia, was a shock. Specifically, the debt in the cedi account is nearly GHC 300 million, and in the dollar account, it amounts to around $151 million.” He said,
