I am Proud of My Achievements Regardless of Artistes Departures – Kaywa

In a recent interview with 3FM Drive hosts Giovanni Caleb and AJ Sarpong, renowned Ghanaian music producer Kaywa expressed his pride in his accomplishments despite several artists no longer being part of his record label. The founder of Highly Spiritual Music revealed that disappointment has been a driving force throughout his career.

Kaywa explained, “It’s the disappointment that keeps telling me there’s more room for improvement. The more I feel disappointed about something, the more I come to the realization that we can go deeper and make it work.” These setbacks have motivated him to strive for continuous growth and success.

The talented sound engineer also emphasized his belief that every individual has a calling to be a destiny helper. He remained unfazed whenever his efforts were unappreciated, stating, “We are created to be destiny helpers, so we help destinies to become who they are, and if for one reason or another, we are not appreciated, we’re cool.”

Despite some artists having left his label in the past, Kaywa expressed immense pride in his contributions to the music industry. He stated, “I don’t feel disappointed. If I look at these guys, I am very, very proud of myself. My excitement is that I have been able to produce hit artists, not just hit songs. When you mention their names, we’ve been behind them, and we’re very proud of that.”

When asked about whom he would bring back to his label given the chance, Kaywa revealed that it is not their style to re-sign former artists. He explained, “Unfortunately, that is not our style. We believe that the platform is always for freshers. When you have enjoyed it for a while and you leave, when we bring you back, it looks like we don’t know what we are about. We’d rather push a lot of energy into brand new acts, but we do maintain a healthy relationship with them.”

Kaywa’s perspective showcases his resilience and dedication to his craft. Despite facing disappointments and artist departures, he remains focused on personal and professional growth. His commitment to nurturing new talents while maintaining positive connections with former artists highlights his strong belief in the power of collaboration and the potential for success in the Ghanaian music industry.
