Written by admin

Okyeame Kwame, a well-known stage name of the Ghanaian artist Kwame Nsiah-Apau, has disclosed his religious beliefs.

In an interview with Kwame Dadzie on Joy Prime, he claimed he did not follow any particular faith.

He claims to be an omnist who draws his faith and inspiration from all religions.

“I was raised in the Methodist Church as a child and was raised as a Christian until I was about 14 years old.

My values are primarily Christian. My dad was a devout Catholic. I grew up participating in catechism and other religious education because my mother was a Methodist. Considering that I attended an Anglican school, the most of my socialization has been Christian. But I don’t believe I can fully identify as a Christian in my adult life. I refer to myself as Omnist,” he declared.

The Rap Dacta continued, “When it comes to loving nature, respecting trees and rivers, he defers to the African tradition; his love for animals makes him a Buddhist; when it comes to the Bible’s teaching on “love your neighbor as yourself,” he is Christian; but he also becomes a Muslim for his extreme respect to God and believing that God has all power.”

He continued by saying he did not want to restrict himself to one religion in order to miss out on the benefits of the other faiths.
