American singer Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas simply known as Ashanti has
revealed she is visiting Ghana during the Yuletide.
The singer made this revelation in an interview when she sat with Ebro on Hot 97 FM.
According to the singer, she had Ghana on her must-visit list in 2019 but she broke her ankle and marred her plans.
“You know what’s crazy ? I was supposed to go there like three years ago but I broke my ankle and I was still ready to go. I was so devastated but I think we’re going back this December” she said.
She also revealed the West African country wants to honor her with a ceremony and a presentation. “They want to do like some presentation and it’s so dope and I want to go so bad”
Host of the show, Ebro also confirmed he will also fly to Ghana and spend some few days and encouraged her to visit Ghana and most especially to the Ashanti Kingdom to the North of the Capital Accra.
“I am going there this December but just for some few days. You have to go, you fly straight to Accra and the fly North to the Ashanti Kingdom.” Ebro said.
Ashanti was discovered at a very young age and was signed unto Murder Inc. Records in 2002 and she featured Fat Joe’s ‘What’s Love’ and Jah Rule’s ‘Always on Time’.
She became the first female artist to occupy the top two positions on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart simultaneously.
