Ghanaian Actress Fella Makafui In a recent interview, opened up about the difficulties she faced in balancing her career with her family and burgeoning business ventures, revealing that she had come close to quitting acting altogether.
Fella Makafui first gained widespread recognition for her role in the hit television series “YOLO,” where she portrayed the character Serwaa, a young woman navigating the complexities of life and relationships. Her portrayal resonated with audiences, and she quickly became a fan favorite. However, behind the scenes, Fella was struggling to find a balance between her demanding acting career and her personal life.
Additionally, Fella Makafui ventured into entrepreneurship, starting her own businesses alongside her acting career. She became the proud owner of a successful wine shop and a beauty spa. While these ventures brought her financial stability and fulfillment, they added an additional layer of complexity to her already busy schedule. Balancing the demands of running a business, attending promotional events, and shooting scenes became increasingly overwhelming for her.
“For the fact that I have to be on set, close as late as 11, 12, I’m like nah I don’t think this will really work and I was so much into my business because it was really picking up and making money so I was like okay if this one is giving me money let me focus on this one,” she said.
“But ever since I got back it’s been okay. It was my husband who convinced me to get back,” said the award-winning actress “He said you should not give up on this and he is very understanding. We have a chef, we have a cleaner, we have people who helping us, we are managing because this is the life I chose to live.”
Fella Makafui is currently Running media tour promoting her self-produced movie which is set to be premieres on May, 26th, 2023 at the Silverbird Cinemas.
