Hopeson Adorye Sued GHC 1 Million In Defamation Case

Written by Sarah Boye

A prominent Ghanaian businessman with the name Alex Kwaku Tetteh has initiated a lawsuit against Hopeson Adorye, seeking GHC 1 million in damages for defamation.

Mr. Tetteh alleges that Adorye made defamatory remarks during a recent interview on Okay FM.

In the interview, Adorye reportedly accused Tetteh of consuming Akpeteshie (a local gin) and smoking weed, further stating that in his drunken state, Tetteh speaks utter nonsense as if from his backside. Tetteh’s legal team contends that these statements have severely tarnished his reputation, subjecting him to public scandal, disrepute, and contempt.

In addition to the financial compensation, Tetteh is demanding a public retraction from Adorye, to be prominently published in major media outlets across the country.
