Written by Sarah Boye

Speaker of Parliament Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin has urged President-elect John Dramani Mahama and Vice President-elect Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang to honor the mandate given to them by Ghanaians through hard work and dedication.

Bagbin congratulated Mahama and Opoku-Agyemang on their decisive victory in the December 7 general elections and reminded them of their responsibility to meet the high expectations of the electorate.

“I congratulate President-elect John Dramani Mahama and Vice President-elect Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang on their emphatic victory and the overwhelming mandate from Ghanaians. Those who receive much must give much in return.“Bagbin said.

He urged the incoming administration to deliver on its campaign promise to reset Ghana, a commitment that voters strongly endorsed at the polls. Bagbin emphasized that this support demands visible and meaningful results.

“Your pledge to reset Ghana has received massive support from the electorate, and you cannot afford to let them down,” he stated.

The Speaker also assured that Parliament will play a vital role in supporting the Mahama administration while ensuring accountability and integrity in implementing promised reforms.

“I am confident Parliament will serve as a reliable partner and a gatekeeper to ensure the fair and effective delivery of your commitments,” Bagbin concluded.
