The Accra High Court has granted Pastor Love, the ex-husband of gospel musician Obaapa Christy, bail of 2 million Ghana cedis after his four-year prison sentence for theft.
As part of the bail conditions, authorities have confiscated his passport to prevent him from leaving the country.
In October 2024, an Accra Circuit Court convicted Pastor Love and sentenced him to four years of hard labor for stealing a 4×4 vehicle belonging to a friend.
Reports reveal that the friend shipped the vehicle to Ghana and instructed Pastor Love to clear it at the port with his own funds, sell it for $50,000, and deduct the customs duty from the proceeds.
Before the sale could proceed, the friend asked Pastor Love to delay the transaction, promising to reimburse him upon returning to Ghana.
However, when the friend arrived in April 2017 and inquired about the vehicle, Pastor Love claimed he had sold it but failed to account for the proceeds.
This led the friend to pursue legal action, culminating in Pastor Love’s conviction.
