Interior Minister Henry Quartey has denied allegations of bribing opposition Members of Parliament by offering recruitment slots for their constituents in the security services.
In an interview on Joy News, Mr. Quartey strongly refuted these claims. He clarified that he had only informed his colleagues about the open recruitment portals for security services and encouraged them to notify their constituents to apply before the general announcements.
Additionally, Quartey insisted that this was a gesture of goodwill, not an attempt to bribe opposition MPs, as alleged by General Mosquito, and denied asking them to submit lists of constituents.
This assertion follows NDC National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia’s claim of the interior minister attempting to silence NDC legislators who opposed the recruitment of about 10,000 party-foot soldiers into the police force.
