Former Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu has taken aim at New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Dr Bawumia over his proposal to upgrade Ghana.
In an interview with JoyNews, he pointed out that the NPP had eight years to address the ailing economy and fulfil its promises but failed to do so. He questioned why Bawumia is now promising solutions within 100 days or in the future, given that the mandate from Ghanaians was for eight years.
Haruna Iddrisu also contended that Ghana needs a reset, not an upgrade, as suggested by NDC flagbearer John Mahama. He said,
“Upgrading a situation marked by hardship, high inflation, poor economic performance, and unsustainable debt, and questioning whether Ghanaians’ suffering has been relieve.”
His remarks came in response to Dr. Bawumia’s dismissal of Mahama’s reset proposal, which Bawumia countered with the need for an upgrade instead.
