Ghanaian social media influencer and musician Mona Faiz Montrage, popularly known as Hajia4Real, has called on the judge in her court case to show leniency.
According to reports, the socialite, through her attorney, has submitted letters and documents pleading for a three-month sentence to learn her lesson before being deported back to Ghana.
Her lawyer argued that Hajia4Real was influenced by a fraud syndicate and highlighted her role as a mother who needs to care for her daughter, especially as she faces difficulties due to unemployment.
This plea for mercy comes after a year-and-a-half-long legal battle involving fraud and money laundering of over GH¢20 million from single American men and women in a lonely hearts scam and been charged with one count each of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, money laundering conspiracy, and money laundering.
