The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus Glover distributes food items and drinks to traditional households in Ga Mashie in preparation for this year’s Homowo festival on August 10.
During the allotment, the Minister, along with Accra Mayor Elizabeth K.T. Sackey, presented bags of maize, gallons of palm oil, crates of beer, assorted drinks, cartons of Castle Bridge, schnapps, and an undisclosed sum of money on behalf of the President and Vice President to Sempe, Asere, Ngleshie-Alata, Abola, Gbese, Otublohum, Akumanjen, Kpakpa Kakadan, Korle We, Oku We, and Jorbu We.
Moreover, at each location, the mayor and regional minister engaged with residents, promoting unity and peaceful celebration.
Both officials urged the Ga people to embrace peace and unity throughout the festival, emphasising the importance of celebrating heritage and supporting one another.
Additionally, they highlighted the government’s ongoing projects in Jamestown, including the Jamestown Fishing Harbour, which aim to improve living standards and bolster the local economy.
