For the country’s railway transit network, the government has purchased new trains.
Twelve modern diesel-powered trains make up the first batch, which Ghana Railways plans to use on its long- and regional-distance routes.
By the middle of the next month, it is expected to be delivered from Poland.
The first vehicle is reportedly undergoing final testing at the Pesa facility in Bydgoszcz; the new diesel multiple unit might be headed to Ghana by the end of this month, according to information obtained by the Polish website “RK”.
Twelve diesel multiple units are covered by the framework agreement with Ghanaian Railways, with an additional ten cars available at the ordering party’s option.
