President of Groupe Nduom, Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom has asserted that the Ghanaian government owes him over GHC7.1 billion.
During a press briefing in Accra, he revealed that, the debt is link to contracts and investments involving his businesses. He emphasized that, based on his calculations, the state owes more than GHC7.1 billion, including interest.
Additionally,Dr Nduom also announced a temporary pause in the Bring Back GN Bank campaign, set for September, as he plans to embark on a nationwide tour of the 300 branches of the now-defunct bank in November after a period of strategic planning and reflection.
Meanwhile, the Bank of Ghana (BoG) has defended its 2019 decision to revoke GN Bank’s license, citing significant regulatory violations. Thus, that the GN Bank’s failure to adhere to key financial regulations and banking standards posed a threat to its operational stability.
