Gospel musician Esther Smith has shared a deeply moving and inspiring story about her birth and her music career.
In an interview on Accra FM, she recounted how her mother nearly aborted her while still a student.
Esther explained that her grandmother’s sister intercepted her mother on her way to the abortion clinic, raising an alarm that led to her father intervening and stopping the procedure.
Esther Smith shared,
“My mother was a schoolgirl when she became pregnant with me. She intended to have an abortion at Komfo Anokye because she feared her father, being his only child.
On her way, she met her mother’s sister, who asked where she was headed. The woman followed her, learnt of her plans, and reported them to my father, who then stopped the abortion.”
Additionally, she also revealed that her mother had taken various drugs to induce the abortion, but none were effective.
