The King and Overlord of the Gonja Kingdom, Yagbonwura Bii-kunuto Jewu Soale I, has expressed satisfaction and lifted the ban on the Member of Parliament for Damango, Samuel Jinapor.
According to reports, the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources Samuel Abu Jinapor together with some government officials visited the palace on August 1, 2024, to present their side of the story.
After hearing Mr Jinapor’s explanation, the Yagbonwura expressed satisfaction with his response, recognizing Mr Jinapor’s respectfulness and understanding of Gonja traditions. Hence lifting the ban.
Additionally, the king warmly invited him to visit Jakpa Palace and other royal residences in the future.
This follows reports that Yagbonwura had previously barred Mr Jinapor from the Jakpa Palace and other royal residences, instructing the chiefs to avoid interacting with any groups that included the Minister.
