The Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) hosted the 24th edition of the most prominent music event in Ghana, the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, on Saturday, May 6,2023.
Gospel All-Star, lead by Piesie Esther, opened the evening with an electrifying performance that included Celestine Donkor, MOG Music, and Ohemaa Mercy.
The main award was presented the following day, well into the night.
Black Sherif, a potential Grammy winner, solidified his status as King Blacko by being named “Artist of the Year” that evening.
In addition to Piesie Esther, Camidon, Sarkodie, King Promise, KiDi, and Joe Mettle, he defeated them all.
However, Mr. Okraku-Mantey, the deputy minister of tourism, culture, and creative arts, remarked that God rewards those who work hard before naming the artist of the year.
