Ghanaians holding “ordinary” passports will be able to travel to South Africa for up to ninety days annually without a visa starting on November 1, 2023.
This accord comes after South Africa declared in 2018 that it would be establishing visa-waiver arrangements with other nations, including Ghana.
The visa exemption has been implemented, making travel easier for those with regular passports, according to confirmation from the South African High Commission in Ghana. Strengthening relations and promoting cooperation, this action is anticipated to increase commercial, tourism, and cultural exchanges between the two countries. It promises more accessible and adaptable travel options and is a major step in strengthening diplomatic ties between Ghana and South Africa.
