“Ghanaians Aged 40+ Must Rethink Moving Abroad”-Naana Donkor

Written by Sarah Boye

Ghanaian content creator based in the United States, Naana Donkor Arthur has urged Ghanaians aged 40 and above to think carefully before moving abroad in search of better opportunities.

In a recent interview, she emphasized the physical and emotional challenges that come with relocating at an older age.

Naana explained that the demands of working abroad can be overwhelming, particularly for those unaccustomed to high-pressure environments.

“At 40 or older, you should focus on building stability, wealth, and a legacy in your home country,” she advised. “Trying to start over abroad at that age may not yield the results you’re expecting. It’s easier to succeed abroad in your 20s or early 30s than in your 40s.”

Further, she also encouraged individuals to leverage their skills, resources, and networks to improve their lives locally, rather than facing the hardships of starting anew in a foreign country.
