Sound engineer, record owner and artist manager, KayWa has stated emphatically, label owners in Ghana don’t usually get back what they invest in artists.

Speaking on Hitz fm on Thursday morning, the renowned record producer has revealed that most Ghanaian Artists after getting a hit song begin to walk with their shoulders raised and will want to do things their own way.

He said “Most artists think that immediately get a song a hit song – when they begin to hear their songs everywhere they go, it gets to the artists, so they feel they need to be on their own”.

He continued to say that his time with Mr Drew was exhausted but he thought of having the strength to continue with him but the artist insisted of looking elsewhere.

“Mr Drew exhausted his five-year deal with Highly Spiritual. But we thought we still had the strength to still work with him but he said he wanted to look a different direction so we allowed him to go” he added.

In his conclusion, KayWa has said that sometimes record managers don’t get in return what they invest in artistes.

“Usually, what we invest in artists is not what we always get in return” he maintained.
