The presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has asserted that Ghana would greatly benefit if the NPP remained in power.
Speaking during his campaign in Accra, Dr Bawumia emphasised the party’s comprehensive policies designed to enhance the quality of life for Ghanaians and promote business growth. These policies include supporting small businesses and women traders through the establishment of an SME bank and a women’s trade empowerment fund.
He also unveiled plans to eliminate import duties on mobile phones, extend the validity of driving licenses to 10 years, and abolish the e-levy.
Additionally, Dr Bawumia committed to providing digital skills training for the youth and outlined his vision for Ghana’s future, which features a flat tax policy in cedis for all goods and a tax amnesty to streamline dealings with the Ghana Revenue Authority.
Dr Bawumia urged voters to back his presidential bid, contending that his opponent, former President John Dramani Mahama, would lack accountability due to his prior single term in office.
