“Ghana To Launch E-GATE System At Kotoka Airport”-Bawumia

Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has announced that Ghana will start implementing the E-GATE system at Kotoka International Airport by the end of the year. 

Addressing chiefs, Muslim clerics, and clergy in Twedie, Atwima Kwanwoma constituency, on November 14, Dr Bawumia explained that the E-GATE system will allow travellers with Ghana Cards to pass through immigration without any human interaction.

“With the Ghana Card, you simply slot it in, and if it matches your identity, you gain access. This will begin very soon, before the year ends.” He stated,

Further, Dr Bawumia also emphasised his government’s progress in digitisation, highlighting the successful introduction of Ghana’s digital property address system. He said,

“When we took office, many homes lacked proper addresses. I proposed a digital addressing system to improve efficiency, and despite initial scepticism, we implemented it successfully by the grace of God.”
