Ghana Should Celebrate Cindy Thompson – Kelvin Boy Calls
Popular Afrobeats musician Kelvyn Brown, also known by his stage name Kelvyn Boy, has urged Ghanaians to pay tribute to Cindy Thompson, a famed Ghanaian Gospel singer, before she passes away.
Cindy Thompson, formerly known as Cindy Quainoo, is a seasoned gospel performer from Ghana who became well-known for her song “Awurade Kasa.”
The then-ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) later utilized the song for political gain in 2000. Her critically acclaimed recordings include Cindy’s Messiah, Nkunimdea, Jesus Wo Nkoa, Onokwafo Nyame, and Calvary Nyannkopon.
Cindy Thompson threatened to sue anyone who dared to use one of her tracks as a sample in a recent interview.
“I won’t work all nights and write a song that someone else will use,” She stated
However, Kelvyn praised the singer on Twitter.
