Ghana Premier League Resumes December 13

Written by Sarah Boye

The Ghana Premier League (GPL) has confirmed its return to action on Friday, December 13, 2024, following a week-long hiatus to accommodate the country’s general elections.

The highly anticipated clash between Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak will take place on Sunday at Baba Yara Stadium.

Hearts of Oak, with four wins in their last five league matches, aim to end a six-year winless streak in Kumasi. Their last victory over Kotoko at Baba Yara came on April 29, 2018, with a goal from Patrick Razak. However, they have only won once in their last six league meetings with Kotoko since March 2023.

Kotoko, returning to Baba Yara Stadium after a four-month closure, has struggled with four losses in their last five games. Despite this, they remain unbeaten against Hearts since the 2020–21 season under coach Dr. Prosper Ogum.
