Former Hearts of Oak midfielder Sulley Muntari has criticised the Ghana Premier League, calling it a fiasco and lacking professional standards.
In an interview, he expressed doubts about the league’s potential for growth and highlighted issues with basic facilities and courtesies that are essential for a professional football environment.
“The league is a big hole where they are dumping money. There is no future for the local league; I hope to get some funds to help because it’s a mess. Maybe it’s even worse now, and it makes you wonder. If we don’t help these guys, how will we ever develop top players for the Black Stars?”
Muntari, who began his career at Liberty Professionals before leaving Ghana, returned after a successful international career to play for Hearts of Oak in the 2021/2022 season.
