Ghana Police Investigates Incident At Metro TV Premises

Written by Sarah Boye

The Ghana Police Service is investigating an incident that occurred at Metro TV’s premises in Accra on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.

According to a police statement, preliminary findings indicate that officers accompanied a court bailiff and representatives of Vodacom Business (Ghana) Limited, the judgement creditor, to enforce a court order against Metro TV.

During the operation to seize property, Metro TV’s private security resisted the bailiff’s actions despite the court’s directive.

Police officers and the bailiff disrupted a live broadcast as part of efforts to recover a debt owed to Vodacom, which has remained unpaid for over three years.

The police have urged Metro TV’s management, staff, and the public to remain calm and cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation.
