President John Dramani Mahama has voiced confidence that Ghana possesses the necessary expertise to tackle the looming power crisis.
Speaking during a meeting with a World Bank delegation on Wednesday, Mahama acknowledged that the crisis had taken the country by surprise but stressed the urgency of addressing it. He highlighted the need for swift action to prevent further complications.
“The transition has been smooth and cordial, but we have faced unexpected challenges in the energy sector and some government decisions over the past seven years,” Mahama said. “Nevertheless, Ghana has the human resources to tackle this issue and resolve it promptly.”
Mahama’s statement follows concerns raised by Yapei-Kusawgu MP John Jinapor, who linked the looming power crisis to the failure of the previous Akufo-Addo administration to secure adequate fuel supplies.
