Member of Parliament for Yapei-Kusawgu,John Abdulai Jinapor has warned that Ghana has only five hours of fuel left for power generation.

In an interview with Joy News after the inauguration of John Mahama, Jinapor expressed concern about an impending energy crisis.

He revealed,

“I have bad news for you. As of today, we have only five hours’ worth of fuel left. The country’s fuel reserves are critically low and could run out in just two days.”

Further, he criticised the outgoing Nana-Addo-led government for failing to secure fuel supplies, despite repeated requests from the NDC transition team.

“We don’t have enough heavy fuel oil or diesel to last more than two days. In two days, we’re likely to run out of fuel,” he said.
