The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has decided to retain coach Otto Addo, despite overseeing Ghana’s worst-ever qualification campaign for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
According to an executive council member and chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee, Dr. Randy Abbey, the GFA has no intention of parting ways with Addo, which means he will continue in his current role.
However, reports indicate that the GFA is planning to make changes to Addo’s backroom staff. Assistant coaches Joseph Lauman and John Paintsil with goalkeepers’ coach Fatau Dauda, are likely to be drop.
This decision comes after Addo’s tenure, during which the Black Stars failed to win any of their six matches in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers, ultimately causing the team to miss out on the tournament for the first time in 20 years.
