The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has apologised to the nation after the Black Stars failed to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

In a statement, the GFA acknowledged the disappointment and frustration felt by fans, admitting that the team’s performance fell short of national expectations.

“We understand the disappointment and frustration this failure has caused, and we share in the pain and sadness of our beloved fans. For that, we are truly sorry,”

Despite the setback, the GFA expressed gratitude for the unwavering support from fans throughout the qualifying campaign and reaffirmed its commitment to restoring Ghana’s footballing pride, promising steps to improve.

The Black Stars’ failure to qualify marks their first absence from the AFCON since 2004, after finishing last in Group F without securing a single win in the qualifiers.
