The Ghana Education Service (GES) has ordered all Senior High Schools (SHSs) to close on Thursday, December 5, 2024, to enable staff and eligible students to vote in the December 7 general elections.
GES urged school heads, particularly those in second-cycle institutions, to strictly follow this directive.
“Schools must close on December 5, 2024, to allow staff and eligible students to travel to their constituencies and exercise their voting rights,” stated the circular signed by GES Deputy Director-General Dr. Kwabena Bempah Tandoh.
The GES addressed the directive to all regional directors of education and copied it to key officials, including the Chairman of the GES Council and the Director-General of GES headquarters.
