GES Launches School Selection Process For BECE Candidates

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has begun the 2024 school selection process for Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates.

In a statement, acting director of the Schools and Instruction Division, Mr Prince Agyemang-Duah noted that, this year, 570,461 BECE candidates can choose from a range of senior high schools and technical and vocational education and training (TVET) institutions.

Furthermore, they also have the option to select STEM subjects, including biomedical science, engineering science, and agriculture.

According to the statement, GES officials will oversee the selection process nationwide to ensure transparency and adherence to guidelines. Regional Directors of Education will inform stakeholders about key dates. Candidates will soon be able to confirm their school choices via a short code, with details to be provided later.

The selection process began on Thursday, August 28, and will continue until September 4, 2024.

Parents and guardians are urge to actively participate in the selection to ensure a smooth placement for their children.
