GES Announces Recruitment Of 2022 Education Graduates Into Basic Schools

The Director General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Dr Eric Nkansah has announced the recruitment of the first batch of 2022 degree holders from colleges of education into various basic schools across the country.

According to reports , Dr Nkansah introduced a self-posting system for the 12,784 newly recruited teachers, allowing them to choose their preferred region, district, and school.

This self-posting system aims to prevent teachers from being assigned to areas with language barriers and challenging conditions against their wishes.

Dr Nkansah explained that this approach enables teachers to work in regions where they can speak the local language, thereby fostering a more effective teaching and learning environment.

Furthermore, it allows teachers to select schools close to their families, providing much-needed economic support.

To utilise the self-posting platform, teachers must visit the GES website used for their applications, enter their college index number to verify their qualifications, and provide their phone number and National Teaching Council (NTC) number, indicating they have passed the NTC exams.

This follows the GES receiving approval from the Finance Ministry to recruit graduates from public colleges of education earlier this year.
