Minister-Designate for Youth Development and Empowerment, George Opare Addo, has pledged to lead with humility and a clear vision for a brighter future.

He expressed his gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for nominating him and emphasised that his appointment presents a collective opportunity to reshape the future of the nation’s youth.

“This is not just a personal achievement; it’s a chance to rewrite the story of our youth. This story belongs to the young people of this country, and together, we will shape it. Today is Day 1, and we have no time to waste,” he said.

Further, Opare Addo outlined plans to introduce a bold, transformative policy framework for youth development and promised to remain accessible to all citizens, regardless of political affiliation.

“My vision is clear: to roll out the most aggressive and transformative youth development policies in our country’s history. We will create jobs, empower millions, and help lift young people out of poverty. My doors are open to everyone, regardless of political views or background. There’s no time for unnecessary bureaucracy,” he stated.

Opare Addo was among the new ministers appointed by President Mahama on Thursday, January 16.
