The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has warned against the unauthorised use of military-style uniforms during public demonstrations.
In an October 14 statement, GAF raised concerns about the increasing number of individuals wearing unapproved military uniforms, particularly those acting as security for public figures.
Despite issuing previous warnings, GAF noted that this practice continues to rise, especially in illegal mining areas.
“We have observed the illegal use of military-pattern uniforms during protests and by private security for public figures, as well as individuals at illegal mining sites (Galamsey),” the statement said.
Further, GAF warned that it will arrest and prosecute anyone violating these regulations. It urged the public to report any suspicious activity involving unauthorised military attire.
