Highlife musician Bisa Kdei has address criticisms of his music being label as funeral songs by emphasising its widespread popularity in Ghana.
In an interview with Adom TV, he stated that although some may try to diminish his work with this label, he remains unaffected because funeral songs frequently play at important events and are generally well recognize.
“People with nothing better to do follow foolish trends. Someone started this narrative on Twitter, and it spread, but isn’t it true that funeral songs are among the most popular in Ghana? Sometimes we talk too much. Instead of supporting those who are working hard, some use social media for unnecessary comments.”
Despite the ongoing discussions, Bisa Kdei remains unaffected by the criticism, noting that his concern lies more with how the conversation has been amplified on social media than with the comments themselves.
