Today, November 15, Ken Ofori-Atta, Ghana’s Finance Minister, is scheduled to deliver the government’s 2024 Annual Budget Statement and Economic Policy to Parliament.
Section 21 of the Public Financial Management Act and Article 179 of the 1992 Constitution will be followed in the execution of the presentation.
After concerns over the budget, the Finance Ministry issued a statement assuring everyone of the presentation. Some trade associations demanded significant tax reductions prior to the presentation in order to lessen the financial strain on Ghanaians.
Financial analysts, however, advised the government to prioritise raising revenue while reducing spending.
