FIFA announced on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, that the winners of this year’s 32-team Club World Cup in the United States will earn up to $125 million.
In a statement, FIFA president Gianni Infantino confirmed that the governing body will not retain any of the tournament’s funds. Instead, FIFA will distribute all revenues directly to the clubs, ensuring that its reserves for global football development, which benefit the 211 member associations, remain untouched.
Furthermore, about half of the $1 billion prize pool will be apportion among the 32 participating clubs. Larger clubs, such as Manchester City and Real Madrid, will receive a greater share based on sporting and commercial criteria.
This tournament, set to take place from June 14 to July 13, will feature the unprecedented $1 billion prize pool, marking a major shift in the financial landscape of club football.
