EOCO Calls On Owners Of Seized Vehicles To Reclaim

Written by Sarah Boye

The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) in Ghana has announced that rightful owners of eight vehicles, seized during operations over the past decade, should come forward to reclaim their property.

In a press statement, EOCO invites rightful owners to come forward and reclaim their vehicles within a specified timeframe.

According to the statement, the agency holds eight vehicles, including a Porsche Cayenne, Toyota Camry, and Hyundai Elantra.

Although the notice does not specify the reasons for the seizures, EOCO investigates economic and organised crimes such as money laundering and fraud.

Owners must present proof of ownership within 21 days of the notice issued on July 18, 2024, meaning they have until August 8, 2024, to do so. If owners do not claim their vehicles by this deadline, EOCO will dispose of them, potentially through auction or scrapping.

Those who believe they are the rightful owners should contact EOCO’s headquarters in Accra promptly and provide the necessary documentation.
