Renowned Highlife musician Kwabena Kwabena has urged young artists to embrace Highlife, a genre he believes is essential for producing hit songs.
In an interview with *Graphic Showbiz*, he expressed disappointment that many young musicians overlook Highlife in favour of other genres, despite its lasting influence on today’s popular tracks.
“Highlife is thriving, and if you want hits, stick to the genre.Ghana’s biggest hits like Fameye’s Very Soon, King Paluta’s Makoma, KiDi’s Lomo Lomo, and Stonebwoy’s Jejereje—are deeply sow in Highlife, though some may see it as old-school.
Additionally, reflecting on his 20-year career, Kwabena Kwabena thanked his fans for their unwavering support.
“I owe everything to the Almighty God and my fans worldwide for their support. Being in the industry for nearly two decades is my biggest achievement. Next year marks 20 years, and staying relevant all this time is the greatest gift God has given me,” he concluded.
