The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has announced plans to broadcast the upcoming Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting live on Tuesday, October 1.
According to the EC, the live broadcast will offer Ghanaians direct access to the discussions and decisions within IPAC meetings, providing clearer insight into the decision-making process.
Further, the Commission emphasis that this initiative were take up independently, not in response to external pressures, particularly from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the meeting will focus on educating the public about the electoral register and processes.
Additionally , the EC stresses that the live broadcast is to build public trust in the electoral process and is not a result of the NDC’s earlier demands.
This unprecedented move aims to increase transparency and accountability in the EC’s engagement with political parties ahead of the December general elections.
