The Electoral Commission will carry out an additional voter registration exercise from August 1 to August 3, 2024.
This initiative is designed to give individuals who turned 18 after the limited voter registration period, as well as those who missed the initial registration, the opportunity to register.
The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa, announced these plans when the Election Security Taskforce, led by Inspector General of Police Dr. George Akuffu Dampare, visited to brief the commission on the election security performance for the first half of the year.
“I would like to officially note that the follow-up voter registration exercise will take place from August 1–3, 2024, to allow individuals who turned 18 after May 29 or those who have not previously registered to join our register. This opportunity is extended to all eligible persons,” she stated.
Moreover, the commission has scheduled a voter exhibition from August 20 to August 27.
